This is a 3-hour course covering the physical and emotional aspects of safeguarding vulnerable adults. It is ideal for care staff working in the adult care sector, including elderly care, dementia care, mental health care, learning disabilities, care homes, nursing homes.

The training involves identifying the different types of abuse as well as its causes with a focus of raising awareness of the importance of Safeguarding Vulnerable People.

Staff completing this course will be in a better position to implement their company adult protection policy and the procedures they should follow.

Attendees will be able to:

Define who may be classed as a vulnerable adult
List the various types of abuse
Recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse
Understand their legal and professional responsibilities
Follow the correct procedure to deal with abuse
Correctly record and report abuse
