The Level 2 Award in Moving People Safely is intended as a further development qualification for those working in areas where the assistance and movement of people is a prerequisite part of their role. The qualification is underpinned by the safe principles of moving and handling but recognises the special skills required when assisting and moving people. The qualification is suitable for new starters in organisations where the movement and assistance of people is a key role as well as being suitable for refresher training.
It is a full day course where the candidates are assessed through both written test and practical assessment.
Candidates gaining this qualification will understand that any moving and handling must be carried out correctly and recognise its importance in ensuring a safer working environment for all.
Attendees will be ABLE to :
- Understand the reasons for safe manual handling.
- Recognise how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety.
- Understand the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with manual handling safety.
- Apply safe manual handling principles.
