Dementia Care and Nursing Home Expo 2019

This March sees the return of the Dementia, Care and Nursing Home Expo, being held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.  Showcasing annually, the Expo is renowned as the UK’s most dynamic social care event, with a huge focus on inspiring positive business growth and sustainable practices within the health, welfare and care sector.

It’s a fact:  We are living longer than ever before.  Developments in healthcare and technology mean life expectancy for the average person living in the developed world is higher now than it’s ever been.  And while such advances are certainly a good thing, the cost of a longer lifespan can often be high.  The number of people living beyond the age of 85 is expected to double within the next 30 years.  The demands placed on care providers is likely to grow exponentially alongside an ageing population.  Sustainability of the social care sector is incredibly important, and it is imperative that carers can embrace and adapt to the new demands and challenges facing them, while remaining compliant and able to deliver on the highest levels of care possible.

This year, the Dementia, Care and Nursing Home Expo will provide access to the latest CPD accredited seminars from industry leaders, alongside exclusively selected exhibitors providing unmatched expertise and free training on a variety of specialist subjects, all designed to deliver care providers with the information they need to stay up to date and effective in a world of ever changing products, technology and trends.

Able Training will be one of the exhibitors in this year’s Expo, and we are delighted to be involved.  Since our inception, Able Training have been on the front-lines of the social care sector, providing the most up to date and leading-edge training to private and public sector organisations and individuals.  Well-known for delivering friendly, relaxed and enjoyable seminars, we specialise in a person centred approach, designed to give results that stick.

Andy Baker, Head Trainer and MD of Able Training, will be speaking on stage at the event. Andy’s seminar, “Reducing Distress to Reduce Stress – How Training can Improve Care,” will focus on the ongoing issues of staff retention in the workplace and focus on the importance of correct staff training in managing behavioural challenges and violence by utilising positive care strategies, and altering staff perception of behaviour, while providing knowledge designed to inspire the skills required for personal confidence and safety.  With over 12 years of experience and his significant background in social care and psychology, Andy’s speech is sure to be an enlightening one, and certainly a talk that won’t want to be missed.  Andy will be speaking in Theatre 2.

The Dementia, Care and Nursing Home Expo will be running at the NEC for two days on the 26th and 27th of March.  Able training will be exhibiting on both days.  Visit us at stand D652 for demonstrations of disengagement techniques and to have any of your questions answered.
