Ligature Awareness & Protocol Training Overview:
This half day training course is designed to give staff the skills and confidence to reduce, assess and manage incidents of ligature. The course explores what ligatures are, and encourages staff to assess their own environment for anchor points and potential ligatures points. As well as tools for pre-written and ongoing risk assessment, staff will be instructed in safe and appropriate practices in the event of a person self-ligating. They are taught how to appropriately manage a situation and safely use ligature cutters with opportunity for practical demonstration and practice.
