About this course

What is manual handling? What legislation is involved? What is the muscular skeletal system? What injuries can occur from incorrect manual handling to yourself or the person? What is a risk assessment? Why is posture important? What type of injuries can occur from incorrect manual handling? How should you correctly catch a patient?

Our Moving and Handling Train the Trainer Public Courses will help you to answer the questions above and more.

On completion of the course, participants will be awarded a ATA (Ability Training Awards) certificate which is valid for 3 years. There will be 2 micro-teaches that will need creating as well as an exam to complete. If you have any questions regarding the session, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team.

Through our Moving and Handling Train the Trainer Public course, you will gain an understanding of what manual handling is and the potential risks that can occur if done incorrectly. You will learn what legislation is involved within manual handling. You will learn what the muscular skeletal system is as well as the injuries that can occur. You will learn the importance of a risk assessment as well as when a risk assessment should be performed. You will learn how to demonstrate good manual handling techniques. You will learn the process and procedures involved in delivering a theory based and practical skills course. You will learn how to correctly communicate and present effectively to learners. You will learn effective teaching skills. You will also learn how to self-reflect and review practice post feedback.

Our Moving and Handling Train the Trainer public course is designed for individuals who wish to become a Moving and Handling trainer for their workplace. Upon successful completion of this qualification, candidates will be equipped with the essential skills needed to provide safe, prompt, and effective techniques when moving a person or object.
