Join us for an informative convention surrounding Dementia and understanding those living with the condition.
13:00 – 13:45 Dementia and the Brain Seminar
Join our seminar explaining how Dementia manifests in and affects the brain. Our specialist trainer will help you to understand the scientific reasoning behind Dementia.
14:00 – 14:45 Activities with Dementia Seminar
A seminar explaining the need for mental and physical stimulation for those affected by Dementia. Our specialist trainer will give you activities best suited for those with Dementia.
15:00 – 15:45 Responding to Distressed Behaviour Seminar
Our Head Trainer and Director will be giving a seminar explaining why those with Dementia present these distressed behaviour. Additionally it will give insight on how best to help and cope with these behaviours as well as giving perspective on why they happen.
13:00 – 16:00 Virtual Dementia Bus Experience
Experience a simulated experience of living with Dementia. The virtual simulation uses auditory, physical and visual instruments all come together to give you perspective on how it is to have Dementia. A great experience to better understand and empathise.
What does Free: Understanding Dementia Day August 2023 cover?
We are hosting a convention concerning Dementia and those affected by Dementia,. There will be seminars from our specialists throughout the day covering the following topics:
- Dementia and The Brain – starting at 13:00 and finishing at 13:45
- Activities for People with Dementia – starting at 14:00 and finishing at14:45
- Responding to Distressed Behaviour – starting at 15:00 and finishing at 15:45
Whilst waiting for these seminars, you can opt to use the Virtual Dementia Experience Bus. This is a simulation aimed at putting you in the shoes of what a person with Dementia goes through, using visual and physical instruments to try to replicate the experience.
To book onto the seminars, please select the relevant seminar ticket. For booking onto the Dementia Bus, please choose the Dementia Bus ticket and select the half an hour slot.

Whether you are in the care industry, customer service or a family member of someone living with dementia, this will be an enlightening experience. If you have any questions, we have our very own trainers on hand who specialise in dementia care.
