This course is important for first aiders, carers, parents and teachers in schools and early years settings as well as those working in voluntary and community activities who might come into contact with a case of anaphylaxis.
Anaphylaxis is an extreme and severe allergic reaction which requires immediate medical attention. The whole body is affected, often within minutes of exposure to the substance which causes the allergic reaction (allergen) but sometimes after hours.
The anaphylaxis training we offer is based on The Anaphylaxis Campaign’s Allergy Wise programme which is RCN-accredited.
Delegates will be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis and will be equipped with the vital skills needed administer safe, prompt and effective treatment
The course is comprehensive and covers:
- Allergen avoidance
- Recognition of symptoms
- Crisis management
- Practical training in adrenaline auto injectors
The anaphylaxis training course can be run as a standalone course or integrated into other first aid courses as requested.
