Ligature Awareness & Protocol Training
This 4 hour course is designed to give staff skills and confidence to reduce, assess and manage incidents of ligature. The course explores what ligatures are and encourages staff to assess their own environment for anchor points and potential ligatures. As well as tools for pre-written and ongoing risk assessment, staff are then instructed in the safe and appropriate practices in the event of a person self-ligating. They are taught how to appropriately manage a situation and safely use ligature cutters with opportunity for practical demonstration and practice.
