This is a 3-hour course covering the physical and emotional aspects of safeguarding adults. It is ideal for care staff working in the adult care sector, including elderly care, dementia care, mental health care, learning disabilities, care homes, nursing homes.

The training involves identifying the different types of abuse as well as its causes with a focus of raising awareness of the importance of Safeguarding Vulnerable People.

Staff completing this course will be in a better position to implement their company adult protection policy and the procedures they should follow.

Attendees will be able to:

List the different types of abuse
Identify the signs and symptoms of abuse
Examine the reasons why people abuse each other
Understand your legal and professional responsibilities in safeguarding others
Identify the new principles of Safeguarding under the Care act 2014
Explore methods to prevent abusive situations
Learn how to respond to abuse without abuse
