Our Online Dysphagia Awareness Training will help you answer the questions above and more. 50% – 60% of nursing home residents and are survivors of head and neck cancer experience dysphagia. 33% of people with multiple sclerosis have dysphagia. 10% of acutely hospitalised older people have dysphagia. 26% of hospital-based individuals have dysphagia.

Through our Online Dysphagia Awareness Training, you will gain an understanding of the different types of dysphagia. You will learn the common signs and symptoms of dysphagia. You will learn what Aspiration Pneumonia is. You will learn effects of dysphagia with individuals. You will learn how neurological, congenital, developmental, obstructions, muscular conditions etc causes dysphagia. You will learn what the swallow test, naseoendoscopy, and video fluoroscopy and how they are used to test for dysphagia. You will learn how swallowing therapy, dietary changes, feeding tubes, medication and surgery, botox and endoscopic dilation can be sued to treat dysphagia. You will also learn what covert medication is and how it is administered.
