In 2021/22, approximately 289 thousand adults were treated for substance misuse, an increase from the previous two years.
Through our Substance Misuse course, you will gain an understanding of the different categories and classifications of drugs. You will learn how to recognise use of drugs by understanding the signs as well what drugs and paraphernalia look like. You will learn the difference between recreational use, addiction and dependence to drugs. You will learn reasons why people become addicted to drugs and you can help support someone who may be experiencing substance misuse.
